The description is confusing enough for me to not know how the hell I should rate this. Having said that, it has noticeable qualities of a brown, stout, and barleywine, so I guess they got this one right. Overall, I thought this was unnecessarily hot from the 15% alcohol, and would perhaps have benefitted from a dialed down intensity. Cheers!

750ml bottle served in a large snifter. I believe this bottle is a gift from @mr-jj. Don't see any dates on the packaging.
Pours a dark brown, almost a stouty black, with a medium tan head and lots of carbonation for a beer this strong. Smell is booze and wood, dark fruit. Moderately mild.
Taste is boozy, alcohol bitter, moderate sourness, plum and wood. Very woody.
Mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Overall, a very solid barleywine.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of cocoa, sweet dark toasted malt, caramel, molasses, slightly earthy. Flavor is rich caramel malt, milk and dark chocolate, molasses, toast, toffee, fresh coffee; nice. Great creamy body with light carbonation, nice mouth feel. This really does fit with the bottle description of a hybrid between brown, stout and barleywine ales, although the barleywine is the lighter element, and represented by the maltier barleywine creations. Good brown ale flavor as well as coffee and malt from a stout profile. Very well integrated and smooth. The dangerously high ABV is remarkably well covered. A really flavorful creation. I'm going back for a few to cellar.
