Pours a black color with a foamy tan head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of caramel. The flavor is sweet and lightly spicy. Mouth feel is fairly smooth.

The Bose Roggen.....was ok. I'm not a schwartzbier fan....even mis-spelled it. The beer poured an opaque black with no head and no lace. The scent was quite nice....roasted corn stalk. The taste is watery roast corn stalk. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer....probably best on autumn nights.

Black in color with minimal penetration to light. There's an inch of densely packed brown head. The aroma is of dark malt, caramel, smoke, and a hint of spicy rye. The flavor is sweet, dark malt, smoke, and lightly spicy rye. It finishes more sweet than I would have anticipated from the nose. The mouth is lightly sticky and fairly smooth.

Bottle is printed with "15 117", guessing April '15 based on the Julian date.
Appears black but in fact is a reddish brown in the light, with a little bit of tan frothy foam and lace. Aroma is mildly roasty, slightly nutty and woody.
Slightly roasty taste, dry aftertaste with a trace of woodiness. Warm and malty, slight astringency, somewhat thin but well carbonated. Overall it's pretty good, had this on tap once and it's was maybe a bit fresher then. Pretty decent, but not all that memorable.

12oz bottle.Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled smokey with chocolate and caramel notes. It tasted of smoke, chocolate and roasted malt.

A black beer from a 12 ounce bottle....tan head and a coffee bean character....serious roast. The roast coffee theme continues through the taste. It is semi dry, with a little bitterness. Some chalkiness comes out after a few sips. Medium body. It isn't particularly noteworthy, but it is enjoyable and well made.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of hops, sweet malt, hint of pine, slight roasted malt, slight rye, and a hint of yeast. Fits the style of a Schwarzbier. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of roasted malt, sweet malt, slight hop, hint of pine, and slight rye. Overall, good aroma, decent feel, and good blend.
