Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish tulip
L: Clear golden copper pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head. Great lacing.
S: Caramel malts and citrus. Bready.
T/F: Rich and malty... lots of caramel sweetness and floral character. Fruity... well balanced with hop bitterness. Citrus dominates... a bit earthy with some pine. Medium to thick in body... especially for an IPA. Carbonation is on point. Finish is sticky.
O: A rich and very much malt forward DIPA. A little sweeter than the best DIPA's and the hop profile isn't as sharp as I'd like. I'm mostly nitpicking... still a very tasty brew and well balanced.

Definitely on the sweeter side of the dipa spectrum but there are nice, bright citrus note and some pine as well. Starts off almost a little watery on the palate, but finishes very smooth with just enough bitter bite.

Nice hazy look to this beer. I'm getting a mix of melon, sweet citrus and alcohol in that order in the nose. For me, the caramelized malt overtakes the flavor a bit and then the hops are a bit acidic on the finish. Not as happy with the flavor of this beer but the heat is slight and the rest of the beer shines pretty well. Also my bottle has 10% alcohol listed as opposed to the 9% listed on the site.

Pours a hazy, orange color. 5/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of alcohol, citrus, floral hops, strong resin, slight piney hops, and a hint of sugar. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a strong bitterness as well. Tastes of strong sweet malt, slight sugar, citrus, piney hops, floral hops, and a hint of yeast. Overall, smooth, sweet, citrus, alcohol-centric, and hoppy.

Copper colored with excellent clarity. There's a solid inch of dense off white head on top. Moderate lacing. Aroma is of citrus hops and light malt. I taste plenty of citrus hops with just enough light malt to keep things from getting out of balance. The mouth is dry and crisp with a deep hop burn on the tongue.

Pretty nice beer from Excel in bomber. Nose is dank hops w some nice fruit notes. I'd guess Columbus and Citra w possibly Centennial hops at least. Not a hop aroma bomb but still good. Flavor is a nice caramel toastyness in the malt and it seems balanced with the hops even though this is a bitter beer. At first sip you can ignore the bitterness but it is definitely there and can be quite present. Some nice fruit taste on the palette and then bitterness on the end. Nice light color and 1.5 fingers of head. A good offering.

On tap, served in a goblet, showed up as a hazy straw, gold colored beer with 3/4 inches of of very white bubbles on top. As it drops, great lacing. Really looks good. Unfortunately, the aroma is faint for the style. Maybe some citrus, stone fruit, and a hint of urea. The taste is resinous, without the citrus. Lots of the funk or 'cat piss' flavors. Not bad, but that's what you get. The mouthfeel is slightly fizzy. Overall, an ok beer but there's much better available. The look is the best part of this one, or maybe the name.
