Pours a dark Reddish-brown with a big, off-white bubbly head.
Smells of citrus hop and carmel malts.
A nice combination of hoppy goodness and camel malts. The more citrus hop is allowed to slightly dominate, but the sweet malts smooths it out.
Excel keeps on improving.

I like this one....a lot! It is very good....on par with Stone's Pataskala. It pours a rich ruby red with thick white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent has nice pine notes. The taste is very good balance of caramel sweet malt at the front and bitter pine at the end. Very drinkable. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall this is excellent and I would buy it again....and again....and again.

A - nice copper/red brown clear color with a off white head that sticks forever and leaves nice lacing
S - big piney, grapefruit, orange rind hops, mango, peaches, tangerine, with some mild caramel malts
T - big grapefruit, orange rind, pine, very bitter, not much malt balancing it out
M - medium mouthfeel, alcohol covered, very bitter and leaves a bitter grapefruit rind aftertaste
O - needs more balance in the taste. Lots of bitter hops character, but the malt is almost drowned out. Would like to see more sweet caramel malt in a red ipa.

On tap at CBC Columbia, MO. Poured a clear amber color with a small, off-white head. It smelled of toasted caramel, sweet malt and pine. Pretty hoppy/spicy amber with a roasted malt backbone.
