Named after the mysterious winged beast that haunts the bluffs along the Illinois side of the Mississippi, this pre-prohibition style pilsner celebrates the early American take on classic German pilsners.

Pours a gold color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. No discernable aroma. Hoppy flavor. Mouth feel is light with a crisp finish. A good planet from this little brewery in Breese, IL.

Pours a clear, straw color with a thin, bubbly, white head and much carbonation. Very slight smell of hop and malt. Tastes quite hoppy for a pilsner. Lacking any breadiness, which I enjoy. A very crisp and refreshing pilsner, just the way it is supposed to be, but not my style.

Clear golden lager. Finger of head with excellent retention and creamy, blanketing lacing. Aroma of mild bread grains and herbs. Flavor is hop dominant as expected. Bitter pine needles, leaves and raw veggies against a delicate malt bill. Light feel. Well carbonated. Crisp finish. Everything a pilsner should be. Hoppy, crisp, light, tasty and refreshing.

Pours a hazy, amber color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and decent lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight sweet malt, yeast, slight hops, and citrus. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. Tastes of citrus, slight hops, slight yeast, hint of alcohol, pale malt, slight sweet malt, and a hint of pine. Overall, a pilsner with a little more kick than the classic style, but not too much to become a different style. Refreshing and sessionable brew.
