Appearance - Pours a gold with four fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - vinous aromas, belgian yeast, spicy hops, fruity esters, and apple juice aromas.
Taste - vinous aromas dominate the brew. There is a hint of belgian yeast. The fruity esters and apple juice aromas follow suit. The spicy hops are lost in translation.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes off dry with a lingering tartness.
Overall - An interesting venture to barrel age a saison. However, the saison elements are lost in translation as the barrel takes dominance.
