This is a great and sophisticated addition to the Yonkers portfolio. A simple yet complex and layered offering that gives the drinker a refreshing and expansive flavor profile to enjoy. A lovely deep gold with a moderate head and light lacing. A touch of visual smear that slightly mars a perfect clarity. In spite of that, the brew is lovely.
Nose has a great complexity. A sweet and spicy combination of grains and malted sweetness. Pepper and Belgian funk. Honey and noble hops. Grass and hay. A touch of horse blanket. This is a brew that you can spend lots of time drinking through your nose.
Taste is superb. Light pilsner malt and twangy wheat combine to bring the honey from the nose to the tastebuds. Spicy and funky yeast. The grassy notes flow into an herbal hop front that blossoms into a dry and crisp hop bitterness. A bit of soap and earth. Hop dryness lingers and fades slowly into a lightly oily coating of the mouth.
Feel is crisp and dry with a quenching swallow and excellent carbonation that maintains through a long and careful drinking. After quite some time there is still a healthy amount of activity on my tongue. This is a real thirst quencher and a great alternative to the usual lawnmower beers.
A great beer that I just had to get a 64 ounce growler of. I'm really digging this brew.
