Big soapy head that stays for a goodly amount of time and leave a healthy dose of lacing. A cloudy light dusky gold somewhat reminiscent of a wit but more translucent.
Nose is light and grainy with notes of ripe fruit and and light Belgian yeast. A blend of mild nectarine and banana with a hint of lemon. A faint berry tartness.
Taste is quite seductive. Mild grains and malt sweetness. Light spicy clove and gentle stone fruit. A soft lemon twang, no doubt undergirded by a bit of wheat malt, and a hint of Belgian funk. Low bitterness combines with a refreshing dryness in the finish to give an herbal character to the blooming of the hops as I swallow. Dry and crisp, quite short and clean, the finish is perfect. Is that and soupçon of cinnamon?
Feel is soft and tingly. Just a perfect level of carbonation and body weight. So crisp and quenching, it goes down way too easily and make for the perfect summer session ale with just a little extra in the abv. Nice.
Really great brew and I'm just seeing that this is a collaboration so I have to hope that it's not a one-off. Hoping that this become a regular offering. Super drinkable and subtly delicious, with a refreshing and quenching quality that truly harks back to the inception of the Farmhouse tradition. This is a top tier offering from the Yonkers Brewery. Well done.
