This English Porter is brewed with oatmeal which contributes to the rich and velvety texture of this winter seasonal beer. Caramel and chocolate malts provide a wonderful roasty flavor in the malt profile while the Noble hops provide just the right amount of bitterness and balance.

Notes from August, 2018: Total blackness, slim brown head. Altogether opaque.
In the nose: Nicely roasted malt, cocoa and espresso. Just right.
In the mouth: Sweetness hits first, rich and malty, bittersweet. More coffee and chocolate notes on the palate. Smooth stuff. Full body, but quite drinkable. Further notes of cherry vanilla. Very satisfying. A perfectly competent oatmeal porter that I'm liking quite a bit.

12oz can. Poured out a jet-black color with a small, thin tan head. It smelled a little of chocolate, toffee and oatmeal. Sweet chocolate, toffee and a nice caramel backbone.

Poured from 12oz can into glass. No canning information on can. Website lists ABV as 6.5%.
Dark brown colored body, with brown highlights. One finger light tan head disappears over time. No lacing.
Aroma of medium roasted malts, with cocoa and burnt caramel. With hint of coffee and a slight tang.
Taste has roasted malts, slightly bitter coffee, less than dark chocolate, caramel, and a little tang from the oatmeal.
Thin mouth feel. Low carbonation.
Watery consistency and low carbonation lessen the taste experience. I would not recommend this beer.

The Outfit pours an almost black color, with a small, lacing head. Nice rich smokey aroma. Taste is creamy and slightly sweet, with a hint of smoke. The beer is a bit watery. Overall, its a very tasty beer, the wateriness does take away.

Pours a very dark brown. Medium body. Pleasantly low carbonation works nicely with this beer.
This oatmeal porter finishes with some dryness and little more bitterness at the end than I care for.
It's ok but I have had better.

L: It is a bright, dark brown pour with bubbles slowly rising to join a light tan 1' cap with good retention.
S: It smells like mild roast, chocolate, traces of coffee, a slight tang and faint oatmeal.
T: It starts velvety rich with chocolate, oats, and traces of fruit and a light touch of tartness on the finish. There are no burnt or harsh roast flavors. Malt flavors are medium high, hop flavors are low, bitterness is medium low but keeps the malt from being cloying. Sweetness is medium low. The yeast character is medium and the oat flavor is medium to medium low.
F: Rich creamy texture, a medium full body and medium, fine soft carbonation.
O: This is a well balanced, flavorful and easy to drink English Style Porter.

Pours a matted black color. The head is sturdy, and lingers awhile. Lacing is quite good. The aroma is of sulfur and egg salad. Quite unpleasant. The taste has some nice roastiness, and a bit of chocolate up front. The finish has a lingering metallic note, and is really off putting. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy. Carbonation is appropriately low. Overall, this is yet another really bad beer from 612.
