From tap (no nitro): Dark brown/black, settling to a 1/2" head that remained for a while. Sweet toffee smell, with no bitter notes, which was backed up by its taste. Sweet and smooth throughout, with a solid but not overly thick mouth feel. Thankfully devoid of those heavy coffee notes popping up all over in stouts and porters lately. A little more sourness as it warmed up; this will be a colder drinker for me. Overall a very solid Irish stout that's not trying to be Guinness, but isn't afraid of the comparison.
