Could not finish this mess of a beer. brunt brown ale, than was a muddled mess. part porter, no Belgian flavors at all. chalky. gritty, mess.

Draft offering at the brewery. The brew appears dark brown to black with a mocha coloree head. Some spotty lace sticks to the glass.
The smell is fruity with hints of clove and pepper. The yeastiness and mild fruit appeal drive home the expectation of the saison style without much malt coming into focus which isnt a bad thing.
The taste is fruity like raison/plum with some bready to dusty grain aftertaste. The typical saison spiciness is quite subdued in the flavor and reveals more of the fruity and grain side of the spectrum.
This is a medium to light bodied brew. It has a moderate amount of carbonation and overall wasnt bad. The dark saison is a tough hybrid style to nail. This one wasnt bad but it wasnt that good either. A little muddled at times but easy drinking.

A dark body with a white head, aromas of red apple and spice. The body is fairly dry and malty with a lack of depth compared to their other beers. Not my favorite Aardwolf saison, but not bad.
