La Cabra Brewing "Clipper"
on tap @ The 19th Annual Manayunk Craft Beer Festival
Notes: Just slightly hazy gold body beneath a frothy head of white. Very good head retention and lacing. Aroma is floral, grassy, and herbal over a grainy malt base. The flavor is fuller: grassy, floral, herbal, spicy and earthy. A solid bitterness leans heavily and it finishes dry, bitter, and hoppy. Not bad, in fact quite good, but not quite a Kölsch, really more like a pilsner as it's just too bitter and hoppy. So how to rate it? It was listed as a Kölsch so I guess I have to go with that... shame, it would really have done better as a German pils.

From draft at La Cabra. From the tap list: "Originally brewed in Cologne, Germany, Kolsch was designed to be light and refreshing. This beer is the perfect punctuation to a freshly mowed lawn. Delicious.
