An American take on a German classic. Creamy and rich with complex malt notes of plum and pumpernickel. Aromas of banana and vanilla are expressed through a rich fluffy head. Lightly hopped with German Tettnang for a gentle floral spice.

This offering isn’t as vibrant as I expected, it’s actually a little more tea-like to earthy than expected. Little bit muddy, the head is nice and foamy.
Nose is banana and brown bread, and the bread carries to the taste, though the banana is muted. There is a slight tang (and the plum they use in their description fits). Note I had something similar in a Sly Fox beer of the same style and it presented more distinctly as unripe banana.
The beer was a little watery when cold, but it softened up a tad as it warmed. A fair offering for my palate.
