I picked up a 1/2 growler of this today thinking it is almost gone, last chance. Bottlehouse cooks great things, so I did not want to miss out.
It pours dark reddish brown, like a red ale. Just a bit of fine fizz. But the color is strikingly beautiful, like red ales.
The aroma is a bit of spice, a hint of pumpkin. The taste is a nice blend of malts with just a touch of spices. It is a little sour, I guess that means it really has some pumpkin. It also is late in the season for this.
The aftertaste is nice sweet ale (like a brown), and very pleasant. This is another hit from the BottleHouse people. I hope to get some fresh next fall!
