Purchased through Ales by Mail
Appearance (Look)
cloudy and pale; white, thick head
Smell
very little malt. tangerine
Taste
very little malt, lots of yeast, no hop bitterness, faint citrus, slightly tart, dry astringency. Doesn't have the depth and complexity I'd expect from the style. a "summer beer" like blue moon (I don't mean to be offensive to say that, but I don't mean it complimentarily either) taste starts but then stops abruptly
Mouthfeel (Feel)
astringent in the back, feels light/watery, carbonated.
Overall
not my favourite and not all that impressive. This is my first experience with this brewery (I live near them and would like them to succeed actually). I'm not familiar with this (and other NZ) hop so I was looking forward to it but maybe on top of a pale ale I'd be able to isolate it more. I generally like saisons so I'm not sure why I didn't like this exactly. There didn't seem to be a lot going on.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
