Acquired from a friend in Asheville, poured into a tulip. Collaboration between Appalachian Mountain Brewery and Appalachia Cookie Company aged in Kentucky whisky barrels. ( That's how "whiskey" is spelled on the label.)
Pour is much different than a typical brown. Murky, deep ruby tints with a huge soapy tan head. Halfway through my glass I still had some decent lacing. Spice, raisins and figs, bourbon and wood on the nose. Spiced gingerbread, raisins, smooth bourbon notes and wood. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth. Very drinkable.
