Had this at The Bistro West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Festival, November 11, 2017.
Pours a black and brown pour, very thin brown head on the top, 1/6". Aroma gave off some of the peanut butter. Mild bourbon notes. A little bit of roast is still perceptible here.
Taste, has that chalky peanut butter presence, not quite as good as what Bruery or Avery has put out in the barrel. A mix of oak, coffee from the malt and chcoolate from that roasted malt. Alcohol seems in the double digit range. I liked it better than the base version, the barrel did give it a little more complexity and stave off the one trick pony designation. I dunno, if the regular ODB clocks in around $20, I don't think I could see dropping that, or even more for a bottle of this should it ever exist. A nice beer for a festival, but not one to clamor for it to be released down the road. File under, neat, but no repeat.
