Look – Pours a clear ruby/copper color with a beautiful head.
Smell – A mild scent of blackberry, oak, and yeast.
Taste – Sour blackberry, bretta, and oak.
Feel – It's a perfectly carbonated lambic. A bit sour, but the sour doesn't linger after swallowing.
Overall – The first sour I've had from Belching Beaver. A very nice sour to me!

Pours a cloudy reddish orange color with a thin foamy head. Very little retention. Lacing is mild. Sour Blackberry aroma. Some peach. There is BlackBerry is the taste but seems more peachy/apricot. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

i was really excited to see some gorgeous waxed little bottles from these guys, its a format i have not seen from them before, and was stoked to pick this up. the beer though has stinky souring elements, the brett or the bacteria or whatever it is, this has an almost gross aroma, despite a pretty stained glass clear purple brew with a gorgeous rising head on it, its smelly, a little cheese, a little sweat, its a flaw in some wild beers, and its here in this one, i cant get past it. its a shame too because i think they got the acidity right, its high, but its lemony and bright. the blackberry flavor is pretty good, a bit of a generic berry thing, some red wine tannic properties as well with the sourness, but the beer is well fruity and that part of it tastes really good. the off funk here is less obvious in the flavor than in the nose thankfully, but the smell is still influencing the way i taste this. its tart as can be, but there is a body odor element here that i cant get away from. other than that, i like the beer a lot, but its inescapable. great carbonation, plenty of wood to finish, and a zinging acidity. maybe this will drop out over time, but at 14 bucks a bottle, i will not be investing again to find out...
