somehow we still dont have a category for kettle sour, but thats what this is, done with raspberries. a pretty tasty beer too, clean on the fermentation side, nicely tart, and with a robust and natural raspberry profile thats nice for summer. the fruit really is the main flavor element of this, i dont get very much grain at all behind it, but i dont mind, as the fruit is really ripe and good, and the sourness is just right, balances out the sweetness of the berries but also enhances their natural tartness and tang, lightly lemony but more just clean than anything. it sort of tastes like a melted popsicle. there could be a little more wheat character to it, its a little one dimensional, but it tastes good, and not everything has to be complex to be enjoyable. belching beaver has really impressed me lately, ive liked all of their beers in a bunch of different styles recently, pretty solid body of work overall it seems, and i am glad to be living in a place now that seems to have a regular supply of their beers coming in...
