Poured black and thick with a very thing tan head that disappeared.

Taste the heavy rich chocolate malt, coffee, sweetness! Intermingled is dark fruits along with mild barrel spice/vanilla and an amazing viscous mouthfeel that lingers wonderfully.

A- Love the thickness of the liquid coming out of the bottle, which, by the way, as a superior label and masculine look to the bottle. The beer is dark brown in color, oily/syrupy looking (thick), and based on the head, this will have mild carbonation. Speaking about the head, it is a deep caramel color, starts out over two fingers thick, but doesn't retain super well, eventually settling down to a thin layer of foam over top the beer. Lacing is also weak with this one, but then again, looking at how thick it pours I don't know that clingy foam is what should be produced here anyways....an oily dark covered film is what I am left with on the inside of the tulip glass.

S- As soon as I opened this bottle up, I immediately smelled super intense Kaluah! Once it is poured, it is intense still, with boozy notes, charred barrel, freshly ground cocoa dust, Americano coffee, fresh vanilla bean, 100% pure dark chocolate, freshly roasted super dark roast coffee bean, and fresh Quebec maple syrup to add to the sweetness! Aside from this, there are lovely black and chocolate burnt malts, Earth, and sweet Bourbon to finish it off.....I'll tell you what....this is in your face and full of bitter/sweet/robust aromatics....superb!

T- HOLY MOLY! This is gusto intenso in terms of sweetness.....so much maple syrup...love it!!! Dark and milk chocolate creaminess melds wonderfully with deep dark barrel char, bourbon, Madagascar bourbon vanilla, lots of lactose sugar, freshly brewed French press coffee, brown sugar, fresh heavy cream, background notes of ashy bitter Earth, Hazelnuts, burnt toffee....so much to process....just WOW!

M/O- Thick as thick is for a beer......like getting through a light bodied syrup! The carbonation is what I was hoping for in this one....smooth and tight bubbles bursting on the palate.....drinkability is both high and low here.....high because I could enjoy this all night.....low because it really is hard to get through the richness I am finding.....darn, I will have to press on! I am so glad I purchased this......the price tag had me nervous but I trust in BB.....didn't disappoint me in the least....a true sharing type beer and if you want dessert in a bottle, it probably wont come better than this one!

Bottle. 500ML. Poured.

The pour is dark & surly, the aroma heavy maple syrup & vanilla poured over a stout.

All In on Lynn Gilmartin! The syrup dripping off this little beast is ridiculous; it’s like a batch was cut with some stout & a half-shot of vanilla. No barrel or roast, but there is a heaping spoonful of brown sugar & sweet chocolate to add to the sweetness. And booze. The stout is hanging out elsewhere with the coffee. Thin. Glad I split this with my wife.

There needs to be another level here, it’s a one-note carnival of sweetness. Coffee would have been welcome, or bitter chocolate, or barrel, or anything to offset the sugar. A disappointingly mediocre brew.

This beer is very cool conceptually and I don't regret buying it but wow is it syrupy and sickly sweet. If you like when stouts taste like old rasputin, this one is gonna be a slog to get through in one sitting. The look is absolutely beautiful. No lacing on the head really and bad head retention, but the beer is a deep seductive black that is just different from other imperial stouts. This beer smells like a mix of chocolate syrup, maple syrup, and whiskey. The smell is very interesting and really heavy on the sweet maple. The taste is where I personally don't vibe with this one. I love belching beaver but this is just so so syrupy and sweet. I will say the maple is done very well and the vanilla as well. The downside is that there isn't enough roasted malt to balance it. There is zero bitterness in this beer and it is overwhelmingly sweet. The booziness is not hidden and when it hits at the end the heat just amplifies the sweetness. The feel is so bizarre. It's like a thick syrupy beer that is so overwhelmingly sweet. Overall, if you're craving chocolate, this beer is for you. In my case, I found it overwhelmingly sweet but I bought three bottles so maybe the last two will have some utility when I have a hellbent chocolate syrup craving.

Stoked for this one; 19.2 oz bottle poured into a goblet.

A: Viscous jet-black pour with a dark mocha head that fizzles away quickly.

S: Whoa, this is sweet. Candy-bar like with strong notes of sugary vanilla and maple syrup, which blend with the dark/roast portions of the stout to come across with milk chocolate aromas. There is some whiskey-like sweetness in there as well.

T: Strong syrupy vanilla and whiskey, with plenty of maple syrup and chocolate as well, but I’m not finding any coffee, which is disappointing - I think this beer would benefit from just a touch of off-setting roast and/or bitterness.

MF: Full-bodied and viscous; syrupy and rich.

O: Pretty decadent, could have scored this one higher AND lower at different points throughout the glass; initially I thought this would land at ‘4’ because the sweetness wasn’t my favorite, but the more I drank the more the flavors meshed and my taste buds adjusted. There is a real candy-bar thing here, and as a pastry stout it works, and I’m sure people will love this one. I just wish it had some coffee presence in the nose and palate.

L: Jet black.
S: Caramel syrup with a hint of vanilla.
T: A slow rush of vanilla and sugar into a light body of chocolate laced with maple syrup. Unlike other stouts, it's not overly heavy or too lingering. It as a light clean coffee finish.
F: Light stout.
O: A very unique simple stout hat goes all in but doubles the earning.
