ive ripped through a number of these deftones beers now, always something fun. this is a japanese rice lager with some unique can art, really pops. insanely light looking, like somehow less than even light yellow, clear with some muted shine, and what appears to be a lot of carbonation and a decent little white head on it, but after even just a couple minutes it looks and feels flat, like the carbonation doesnt stay in suspension very well for whatever reason, super disappointing and i like these to sing on the palate, but i think the flavors are pretty good, just need to drink it faster next time maybe. the nose is slightly floral and a bit sweet too, not easily identifiable as rice per se, but its similar enough to others ive had over the years for me to sort of approximate its contribution right away, some light mustiness, simple lager yeast, and very light on this hops, this smells a bit more minimal than it tastes. some breadiness up front from the grain, light a fully barley malt in with the rice here, still dry though, just adds some body i didnt expect for its super light color. the yeast might add some of that, perhaps slightly european to me but it stays back. a hint of elderflower, cooked citrus, and minerals, maybe faintly soapy, it seems less than fully clean and crisp at the end, part of that could be the carbonation deficiency. but its not snappy and refreshing the way i usually look for the style to be, and it makes it come across a little cheap and underwhelming as a result, even if there are parts of this i like. the whole isnt amazing or as cohesive and bright as it should be, my dad agreed. not a standout from this funs collaborative deftones project...

Pale chill hazed white gold, even with faint green hues through the otherwise translucent body, all under a tall but airy white foam.

Sweet cornbread presents with a nice floral accent and a cleaner than typical finish for a rice lager.

look is golden and clear, sweet crisp maltiness smell, tastes like they used a good rice for their lager with high quality water, resulting in a wonderful flavor with a very pleasant aftertaste. feel was crisp, with little carbonation. my 2nd favorite Japanese rice lager behind Party Boy Pils. bravo!
