Gravity halfpint at the London Drinker festival.
A: Clear garnet body with a half inch of fine, off-white foam. Spotty lace. Not as ruby as I'd hoped.
S: Fruity hops dominate, with mango and strawberry standing out. Very interesting. Some toasty malt as well. Ok, but not really coherent.
T: Sweet, fruity, and sweet again. Candied cherry, strawberry. Bitter aftertaste. Weird but not terrible.
M: Medium bodied, fine carbonation, and a tad sticky. Ok.
O: I mainly ordered this one because of the brewery name and its resemblance to my local brewery's Fuzzy Baby Ducks IPA, so I didn't have any expectations for the beer itself. That's a good thing, since it wasn't all that special - too sweet for sure, but also surprisingly bitter. Perhaps it's just the scores of session beers surrounding it, but even at 5.3% this just seems like too much of everything, and it isn't put together well enough to pull it off.
Cheers!
