A decoction mashed European-inspired lager, this light lager exhibits a grainy, cracker-like aroma with a hint of spicy noble hops. The flavor is malty with a touch of sweetness and a balancing note of spicy hop bitterness. Soft malty impressions round out the finish.

poured from a 16oz can into a tall Hofbräu München lager glass. pours a bubbly, semi-clear gold with almost three fingers of soapy white head. bread and cracker maltiness on the nose with a slightly floral hops. taste has a crackery maltiness backed with less floral and more spicy hop character. a well carbonated, full mouthfeel. this is easy drinking yet not at all boring. traditional, yet pleasantly American. i can easily envision a pretty nice little Saturday with a couple of these.

Crystal clear decoction mashed lager with bright refreshing hops and carbonation. Very good beer for pretty much anyone.

16 oz can. Pours a clear golden color. No head or lacing. Very off-putting smell. Grain, malt and grass. Taste is grass and malt. No body very thin. Not very good.

Aroma is grainy malts and mild notes of fruit and spices. The flavor is citrus, fruit, malts, mild earthiness and a mix of crisp and tart in the finish.

New label, tastes a little better than I remember. More crisp, defined malt flavor.
2017: 3.18
Canned 2/16/17.
Pours dead with no foam or lacing, some rising carb trails let you know it has some bubbles.
Aroma is swilly, corn, cereal grain, puffed wheat. Nothing good nothing bad.
Taste is pretty bland, corn, and an apple ester from the yeast. Vague earthiness.
Light bodied, a little fuller for the style. Low effervescence fading halfway through.
Overall it's pretty dull, but not the worst Light Lager out there.
You'd think a craft brewery would put more of a spin on it, especially Triptych, as they make some great stuff.

Pours a crystal clear light yellow color. Effervescent and almost glowing. Frothy thick white head dissipates immediately leaving no residual head or lacing whatsoever.
Smell is skunk with lots go grain, corn and maybe some mild floral hops. Smell is subdued by appropriate and what would be expected for the style.
Taste follows the nose with lots of grain and corn. Pretty sweet in the flavor. Some floral hops on the back end. Slightly bitter dry finish, but very mild and cut by the sweetness. Well crafted flavor profile for an AAL. Note sure if this is supposed to be a "light" lager like bud light, but in that case the flavor profile here is really well done. If its just an AAL, then its a slightly above average flavor profile.
Feel is a bit heavy for the style. Mild to medium carbonation. I don't use the term "crushable" lightly, but this beer earned it - you could easily drink a bunch of these and not blink.
Overall a really nicely don light AAL lager. Not sure its better enough to drink this at the price point over most of the generic macro AALs, but props to Triptych for brewing a well done AAL.

I am trying this beer for a second time! I got a tall can of this beer from my good friend and old neighbor from the 'Wego. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had bold common German pilsner notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright crisp malt base with saaz hop presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
