Really Dank Meme

16oz can, dated 8.11.17, poured into a Triptych shaker pint glass. Enjoyed on 8.31.17, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a hazy and murky orange color, golden hues that is pretty turbid once the can is fully emptied into the glass. A nice white head rises with good retention and lace. The nose is very good, super tropical, lots of citrus and pineapple with a very aromatic floral bouquet that draws out some bitter pine and dank green hops while a sweet soft doughy malt backbone props the beer up. The flavors are delicious, tons of juicy hops, loads of citrus and pineapple, a bit of passion fruit as well with that lovely floral and dank character really coming through with just a kiss of soft grain and a mineral water laden finish. The mouthfeel is good, coating medium body that has a nice lively carbonated texture that finishes easily and dryly.

Verdict: An awesome IPA from Triptych. Tons of flavor, nicely balanced, super juicy. It's perhaps a bit more bitter and less expressive than the pale ale, Dank Meme, but for someone wanting that more intense experience, this works perfectly.

From a 16oz can:

Appearance: Murky orange, good head.

Smell: Citrus, grapefruit, hint of earth, sweetness.

Taste: Just awesome, sweet citrus followed by lots of berries, and the finish combines earthy, dank, and citrus.

Overall: I liked Dank Meme, and I really liked this one. Picked up a 4 pack in Illinois and wish I would have picked up two. Big mosaic berry flavor and nice combination of citrus and berry fruitiness.

 

 

This one pours a very hazy and cloudy orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like pure slightly funky orange juice, with a bit of melon as well.

This tastes the same. It's fairly unbalanced, but still fairly tasty. The hop character is pungent, but I do wish even for a hint of bitterness- it's not really there at all.

This is light bodied, crisp and clean, with a good level of carbonation.

These types of IPAs are fairly good, but without any bitterness they tend to be fairly muddled for me.

 

 

Pours a somewhat cloudy gold with a small white head.

Some light fruit smell.

Taste- Very light bitter with some nice hops. One of the best in Central Illinois.

Feel- Soft and juicy feel.

Love this beer. The whole Dank Meme series is great.

 

 

 

L- whores like a wonderful orange juice. Has some nice carbonation as well. Just the way I love my ipas do look.
S- a wonderful Citrus hop bomb smell lots of melon and oranges.
T- face follows the nose. Lots of great Citrus hop and good bitterness. The hops explode in the mouth. A nice resin burst and citeus fruit rind sticks around.
F- creamy with nice bitter resin.
O- Strong apa.

16 oz. can. Hazy orange. Smells of papaya and banana. A little citrus. Tastes of more orange than papaya, but the sweetness is all papaya. Garlic builds in the back and finishes earthy and astringent. Low bitterness. Medium to medium heavy. Decent. Smells really nice, but doesn't quite deliver.
