375ml red waxed "stubby" 12oz bottle. No bottled on date.
Appearance: Black bodied beer with thick cap of khaki head that drops down to thin ring around the glass.
Smell: rich bourbon and oak. Hints of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee.
Taste: Big yet smooth vanilla and bourbon. Chocolate and coffee in the finish. Everything here is as advertised!
Mouthfeel: medium full bodied stout. Stupid smooth sipper despite the 17.7% abv. This is definitely a "Triptych barrel program calling card" that the booze is so deceptively smooth and the texture is thinner than you would expect. This beer is a bit sticky without being thick.
Overall: Triptych barrel aged stouts are quite good; Dearest Anna joins the company of Forces Way Beyond our Control and 52.5 HZ as absolute stunners, but Dearest Anna is just a very small notch below those two beers.
