SAVOY’S BEST MILD is smooth & malty with hints of dark fruit. Made with imported British malt and British hops, this gorgeous malt-forward brown ale is full of flavor but with a low-ABV that easily allows you to have more than one pint!

On Cask at the brewery.
A: Pours a dark brown color with a beige head that recedes rather quickly. It doesn't have that cascading effect that other casks have pouring from the hand pump.
S: All the malty character up front. Brown bread, toasted malts, light fruits. Very nice.
T: Follows the nose with a lot of baked brown bread flavor, toasted malts, and a toffee like sweetness. Just a hint of some fruity notes coming through in the end.
M/O: A light body and moderate carbonation. From the cask pour, I was expecting something a bit fuller, even for the style and ABV. Though very easy to drink. I can down this in big gulps.
This is an enjoyable example of a Mild, and really glad to see it on cask. Though, I don't think the conditioning made a lot of difference here. It could just be me, but it seems more from a regular gas keg, not that it is, but it just seems that way to me. Maybe, for whatever reason, I'm not picking up on the cask conditioning, but it is still a very nice mild regardless.

Appearance: Pours a clear tea color with a bubble show the lifts into a two finger head; solid retention with streaks and squiggles lingering
Smell: Malty brown bread and earthy tones with hints of toffee and fig
Taste: Brown bread with hints of toffee and fig; earthy hops add some balance to the finish
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: I have had some Milds that have a bit more malt flavor but this is still quite good
Thanks, falloutsnow, for the opportunity
