At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Date stamp illegible. My 2nd time drinking this, and 1st for 2026. Ridiculously approved by Sundae the cat, with love...

A decidedly not hazy pour (so much for the name) with a fuzzy head. The nose is absolutely putrid. Completely disgusting. As is the taste. Ugh! Jeezus, what happened here? It's gross and you just have to taste to know why. It's like something died in here, hard to describe. Like it's loaded with fungus and not in a good mushroom way.
Oily finish, if anyone cares.
Immediate drain pour.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated May 30 2024 and served barely chilled.

Pours foggy and effervescent, its bright golden yellow-hued body supporting one finger of soapy white head that lasts for three minutes or so. It leaves behind a narrow ring of even lace as it's whittled down to a generous, frothy collar and patchy cap - looks normal enough so far. The aroma is relatively muted, offering up hints of grapefruit peel, stone fruit and melon with a touch of piney, floral hops.

It's a serviceable hazy IPA - not especially juicy & maybe a little more bitter than expected, but generally palatable. I'm getting flavours of peach, grapefruit and pineapple, with suggestions of cantaloupe and orange; finishes with piney bitterness, pithy hops and peachy notes dissipating into a weakly warming aftertaste. Medium-full in body with energetic carbonation that remains prickly and crisp right down to the last few gulps; decent drinkability for 7%, but one can is enough for me tonight.

Final Grade: 3.7, a B grade. With a name like Wrecking Ball IPA, you'd be forgiven for expecting an intense or otherwise vigorous brew that hits you hard and breaks down your walls. Sadly, this is just another hazy IPA to toss onto the pile: its flavours are acceptable, but they're nothing that any experienced, pale ale-loving beer geek won't have seen a dozen times before. Worthy of a half-hearted recommendation - I wouldn't go out of my way for more, but if a fresh flat shows up at my local bottle shop, I'd give it another shot.
