A refreshing ale that drinks like a lager, this German style Kolsch pours straw yellow with hints of honey malt character and a smooth, crisp finish.

12 oz can into a tumbler, Nice straw color extremely clear, with a white head. A nice malty aroma with some honey and fruit. It's dry crisp the finish has a fruity sour bitterness. I really enjoyed this beer it was my first Kölsch but will definitely get it again.

L-Gold color, light haziness...
S-Light bready and doughy notes...I like it but maybe a bit too malty per style
T-Malt impression is toasted breads....light but flavorful...a hint of fruitness (apples/pears)
F-Finishes with a little puckery twang
O-Enjoyable beer. A purist might say it's a tad too malty but I personally like a Kolsh with a bit more maltiness. I'd by this again...great summer beer. Quality beer.

Appearance: Straw-hued body, a bit of haze to it. Quickly thinning, white head.
Smell: A slightly grainy-scented maltiness with a modest winy hint and accent of orchard fruitskins.
Taste: Softly bready with a honeyed cereal sweetness underscored by a light graininess. Modestly earthy hops with some balancing bitterness. As with the nose, you get a little apple, a little winy hint. Just barely manages to finish semi-dry.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-low carbonation.
Overall: Not a bad stab at the style.

12oz bottle EB date 1/15/22 into a 12oz Kolsch glass.
L: Pours a slightly pale straw yellow with light yeast visible, fair carbonation, has a white 1.5 finger head with a cap that fades quickly to edge foam. There is some micro sediment which could be held back with a gentle slow bottle pour and there is light random lacing present.
S: White bread, grains, crystal malt, yeast, light grass.
T: Sweet honey malts, white bread, cracker, lightly earthy, clean, light bitterness throughout and very lightly fruity. Very fresh tasting.
F: Crisp med-bodied mouthfeel that is moderately soft with a sharp fast finish. Extremely well balanced.
O: A proper Kolsch glass helps make this beer even more fantastic than it already is. Very easy drinking, crisp & clean and it follows right in step with a traditional European Kolsch. It is excellent in it's style.

Poured from bottle into tulip, nice 1+ finger cream colored head, good retention and lacing. Clear pale yellow in the glass, some floaties, wasn't careful on the pour. Smells of grain, biscuit, grassy and a nice fruity yeast aroma. Sweet malt on the first sip, aggressive carbonation wakes up the tongue. Clean tasting, baked bread and grassiness gives way to a little fruity esters in the middle. Finish is on the dry side, crisp finish. Good mouthfeel and enjoyable to drink

Pours a hazy light straw yellow with minimal head and thin lacing.
Smell is light sweet malt, grassy and fresh
Taste is mild honey, some wheat.
I like Kolschs, just not this one so much.

Appearance: Pours a clear, pale golden color with a rather strong, soft white head that crawls up the glass. (4.00)
Aroma: Predominantly bready aromas. Strong rich, malty and earthy bread. Bread cream on the finish. (4.00)
Flavor: Flavor follows with more malty bread. Some cream behind that. The bread flavors melt in your mouth. Not really any hops or fruits appreciated here. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied, but completely creamy and smooth on the palate. Feels like a pillow on the tongue. Quite remarkable, and near perfect mouthfeel! (5.00)
Compared to Sierra Nevada's Summerfest 7/5/2020: Pours a lighter color. More soft bready malts on the aroma/flavor. Less fruit/rubber and crispiness. Finishes much smoother.
Overall: A remarkably fantastic beer, but not the Kolsch that I was expecting. Mostly bready and malty, without any hop presence. Nice bready flavors, but what is really unique about this beer is the soft, bready mouthfeel. So smooth and almost dissolves on the tongue like cotton-candy. Not exactly the Kolsch I was expecting or even a Kolsch at all, but a fantastic beer overall. For a German lager this one is one of the best! (Final Rating: 4.20)

ZipLine Kölsch, 5.4% ABV, 24 IBU. Pours thin and pale hazy yellow with a thin head. Nose is malty and earthly. Taste is malty, a bit sweet and not really bitter. Outstanding smooth and overall a great summer bear. One of the best Kolsch's I've had. A craft beer taste, but at the same time, its a pounder. My wife loves it.

Look - golden, a little lower on carbonation it looks like
Smell - mostly grass
Taste - gentle, with a touch of honey, especially on the finish
Feel - light and very drinkable
Overall - a nice drinkable beer, especially enjoyable for a early Fall football game, but not exceptional

Pale yellow and smells of melon, pear and straw. Pear, melon, fruit rind, white grape, straw and grain on the tongue. Finishes with a certain sweetness. Might have noticed some vegetal notes in places. Light in body and softer like expected.
Even a decent Kolsch makes me happy, and this is definitely more than a decent Kolsch, so I suppose you could say this beer made me happy.
