Resembling the changing leaves of autumn, the golden, amber, and brown specialty malts in this English-style brown ale impart a rich harmony of hazelnut and caramel.

Zipline Nut Brown Ale, 5.8% ABV. Pours deep brown with a one-finger tan head. Nose is sweet malt and nuts. Taste follows, with slight sweetness and slight bitterness. Mouthfeel was excellent, overall outstanding. Nut Browns don't tend to wow, but I could drink these all day.

My good friend and old neighbor from Oswego gave me a bottle of this beer. It poured a clear deep mahogany with no head and no lace. The scent had faint rye bread notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with caramel malt and yeast base with subtle bitter hop finish where a slight nutty taste originates. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Bottle, no date:
Pours a medium brown from the bottle, becoming deep brown in a snifter, seeming to have a little cloudiness as well. The head is a mix of foam and large soap bubbles, off-white and lasting. There’s a moderate amount of foam that stays on the glass.
Nose takes some warmth to come to me, but a light toast is hiding in the nutty scents. A little English-style hop note comes through with an earthy spice to woody tang. Light but distinct aromas.
A decent prickly carbonation greets my tongue before dissipating to a fairly thin feeling beer. Medium light body.
Taste reminds me of a classic English Brown, with a fair bitter balance to the tangy opening. Toasted malt seems to sit back initially, honing mid-taste and then giving way to the nuttiness. The nuts are not robust or dominating, but a nice veer of the flavors the continue to the end taste.
I like most things about this beer, except for the tang - almost like lemon leaves were added. Note, I have no idea what these would taste like, but ITV explains the sensation I get from the tart/tang and herbal bitterness.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a semi-dark red to brown color with a two finger white foamy head. Glistened a bit and fell off at a moderate pace to leave some light messy lace. The aroma had some pecans to almond sweet and roastiness over top of some light caramel/toffee malts. Moderate amount of espresso sweetness with just a touch of roast. The flavor was basically the same with a nutty and caramel aftertaste. Finish was basically the same. The feel was roughly medium in body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation and ABV felt appropriate. Nutty smoothness along my tongue with a light grip. Overall, pretty nice English styled brown ale worthy of having again if I could get it.

definitely one of their more basic beers here at zipline, i am not sure i have had one from them quite this mundane, but its also really well executed, and is a great testament to the quality of this operation, even if it lacks the innovation many of the other ones display. its definitely on the lighter side of brown ale, see though, even with some red hues along the edges. it has a tall frothy mocha head on it though, and is a nice looking glass of suds. smells and tastes pretty classic, a slightly bready yeast strain pushing through a bitter bakers chocolate malt base with more toast than roast, but not a whole lot of middle of the mouth sweetness than so many of these have. it tastes very clean, dry even, less of the milk chocolate and oatmeal properties, more of the dry cocoa and fresh baked elements. nicely built for high drinkability in a place where summer can be pretty long, mighty hot, and brutally humid. this works great in that context and is carbonated nicely too. surprised to read others describing this as porter-like, i thought it was decidedly light for the style. in any event, solid execution, nice beer.

12oz bottle. Poured a semi-opaque, brown color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of toffee, caramel and roastiness. It tasted of roasted caramel malt and toffee with a mild bitter bite.
