Imperial stout aged in cognac barrels. Each velvety sip boldly wakes the palate with complex notes of dried fruit, hazelnut and brûléed sugar.

Can pour; pour produced a hefty, dark brown head that dissipated to a healthy ring around the edge of the glass. Nose has dark fruit notes. Body is thin. Flavors lean cognac/barleywine but struggle to complete the endeavor because there's no body to carry it to the finish line. Otherwise, the finish seems appropriate.

No head formed when poured into a snifter, not even a film or lacing.
The nose is watery but it does have a cognac aroma.
The flavor carries through with the cognac with some barrel-aged heat that simmers down as it warms. Notes of stone fruit and caramelized sugar also come through.
It does have a creamy, medium-thin mouthfeel, and the finish belies the 13.4 ABV.
