Poured into a Nonic pint.
Pours light amber, lightly hazed, and mildly carbonated, with subdued head but good lacing.
The aromas are somewhat elusive and vague, but they are pleasing--sweet citrus and floral hop. Not precisely in the IPA lane but not decidedly out of it either.
The brew is delicately sweet on the tip of the tongue--again, general citrus with a kiss of honey, then graham in midstream and restrained hops--some resin, but mostly citrus pith.
The brew is fairly down the middle on weight and drinkability.
Overall, I would call this one of the more approachable IPAs I've ever had. It checks boxes without hitting you over the head with malt or hop burn. And at 6.8% ABV, that is a pretty good accomplishment in its own right. But its flavors are so restrained they make me think "APA" not "IPA," and yet aren't as balanced as one of those either. Sort of a tweener that doesn't quite do enough, it ends up feeling like an IPA with training wheels.

12oz bottle. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of citrus, grapefruit and toasted bread. Sweet orange taste with grapefruit, some piney bitterness and a toasty finish.

It has a rather dull honey color to it and the head was about 2 fingers thick and a little off white. The blackberry aroma can be detected in the aroma along with some grapefruit and had a very distinct blackberry aftertaste. Not as much bitterness as with some other IPAs and didn't feel to carbonated. I'm very satisfied with this beer nonetheless because of the fruity taste and aroma.
