Belgian style Tripel aged in white wine barrels with Persommon. Bottle #170 of 295. Thick white waxed cap was a bitch to open. Poured into Leffe wine glass. 1 inch white head dissipated fast. Semi cloudy honey color. Smells fruity with the Persimmon aroma shining through. Taste just about perfect for style. With a nice throat burn and fruity aftertaste. Has a white grape juice taste. Overall this might be the best fruited Tripel style I ever tried. Incredible offering! 4.75

Surprised no one else has reviewed this one yet. Glad I can be the first.
Pours a dark brown, almost cola-like color with a slight off-white head. Not much in the way of lacing. Could use a slightly better sense of carbonation to the look.
Smell is candi sugar, belgian yeast notes, figs, and plums. Well done to style and very quaffable.
Taste is very in line with the smell. Constant sweetness but never overwhelming. No real sense of bitterness. Underlying dark fruit notes throughout. Slight alcohol notes.
Mouthfeel is the right balance of slick and smooth. Very nice to style. Easy to drink given the body of the beer.
Overall this beer is a little better than the sum of its parts. I've been drinking a fair amount of foreign and domestic BSDA's lately and this stacks up well against the best of them. Recommended.
