Pours almost clear golden with just a bit of haze. Outstanding head volume and retention. Normal lacing.
Outstanding nose of slightly sweet citrus that is bright and airy. Orange is the primary olfactory influence but tropicals simmer underneath (pineapple, mango, passion fruit).
Light body with a smooth texture. The carbonation / body balance is outstanding. The middle has a lively effervescence that is quite outstanding, while the finish steps the effervescence up slightly but falls short of rollicking.
The flavor profile is good but fails to live up to the potential of the aroma. It is pleasantly tasty but nothing really separates or shines. Bitterness is quite low but appropriate for a cream ale. This beer is not sweet but is balanced well. What is lacking is complexity and, to a lesser extent, intensity. The main flavor component is a weak citrusy note that is slightly tart and hints at being orange. The tropical aromatics of the nose are not detected on the palate. The finish is a slow fade that leaves you with a slight note of zest.
