An all time favorite in our home - bold flavor - we buy growler of draft not a fan of tall cans

Poured from undated can into a shaker glass. It pours a hazy, dirty lemon color with a half finger of fluffy, milk-white head and thick, creamy lacing. Its smell is primarily lemon and grapefruit, along with some subtle red berry. The taste is grassy and dominated by tart citrus over a crackery malt base. It's very lite and clean with mild bitterness. What I'm not tasting is the oats. There is little sweetness. The mouth feel is lite and crisp with pleasant carbonation, and it's a very easy drinker at 6.1% ABV. I'm frustrated by the lack of canning date. This ale is one-dimensional but I suspect that when fresh there is some oat and red berry sweetness to balance the tart citrus. Overall, it's a fine, basic American IPA. A good lawn mower beer.

Look - poured from a pint can (canned on 11/15/22) into a small tasting glass. Light straw yellow in color, very cloudy, with a one finger head.

Smell - light citrus, a bit of pine/grass. smells are subtle but promising.

Taste - light tartness with moderately high hoppy bitterness in the initial taste, which lingers all the way through the finish. more grass in the taste than in the smell.

Feel - medium bodied, average high carbonation, and moderate on ABV at 6.1%.

Overall - despite looking like a hazy NEIPA, this is a fairly hoppy brew with decently high bitterness. flavor profile is nicely balanced. Nice brew from Trophy.

Cloud Surfer from Trophy Brewing. Received from @nc41 in BIF 12. Received 10/8/20. Reviewed 10/29/20.
Can stamped on bottom “07/10/20”. Stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 51 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale straw (SRM 2), hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), opaque. When held to direct light, same color but more translucence
Head – Large (Maximum 4.8 cm, aggressive center pour), off-white, high density, average retention, diminishing to a three to five mm undulating crown with a thin complete rocky cap. Second pour produces a short-lived unremarkable three mm head.
Lacing – Fair. Single undulating broken band of tiny to small bubbles with some stalactites.
Aroma – 4 – When the can is popped, a burst of pine resin which quickly fades. No malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 - Slightly bitter with a bit of pine resin. This gives way to a slight tropical fruitiness which lasts through the bitter end. No malt, no yeast. No alcohol (6.1 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. The bitterness has a long hang-time on the soft palate.
Palate – 4 – Medium, almost creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 Starts off pleasing but quickly becomes just plain crushable.
