Brewed in collaboration with NC roots-rockers, Jack the Radio to celebrate 5+ years of their debut album, Pretty Money.
This Baltic Porter displays a velvety mouthfeel with rich chocolate overtones and notes of coffee and hard caramel candies on the finish. Brewed with Durham malted Munich Light Malt and Trophy's house lager yeast.

A: Pours an opaque, yet still clear very dark cola brown bordering on jet black in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a couple of small patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of roasted malts, chocolate malts, caramel malts with moderate amounts of freshly brewed coffee. Light notes of dark fruit (plum + prunes).
T: Upfront there is a slightly stronger than moderate flavor of roasted malts, chocolate malts, and caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of coffee and some light to moderate flavors of cocoa. Finally there are light to moderate flavors of dark fruits (plum + prunes). Slightly heavier than light amounts of roasty bitterness that lingers through the finish.
M: Just slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Enjoyable and easy to drink, a nice example of the style. I could definitely have another couple of these.

Light comes through the edges of this dark beer with a fluffy, light brown head that leaves wide bands of lacing. The aroma is sweet with coffee and a clean roasted malt. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate and a great sweetness. There is a nicely understated bitterness at the finish. This is a really tasty porter and I am probably a little high on my rating because of my love of porters.
