A: Pours a relatively clear medium straw yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and faint medium yellow + faint pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall sudsy fizzy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of banana esters/Belgian yeast over the top of light to moderate aromas of bready + biscuit malts along with a very light aroma of spicy hops.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of bready + biscuit malts with a light amount of honey like sweetness. That is quickly overtaken by just shy of strong flavors of banana esters/Belgian yeast and a light flavor of spicy hops giving it a hint of bitterness which fades pretty quickly leaving a lightly sweet banana yeast flavor lingering.
M: Medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp upfront with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Definitely not what I was expecting for a Helles Lager but it is an interesting hybrid of a Belgian Pale and a Munch Helles in flavor and aroma. Fairly easy to drink but not sure that I would get this one again (I wasn't feeling the Belgian yeast tonight).

Poured from a can dated 8/14/17 (one week old) into a snifter with a little less than a finger's worth of head, dissipating quickly. Color is a cloudy straw that evokes a feeling of sunshine. Smell of biscuits, marmalade and a little bit of sweet dessert wine and maybe white peach. Rounded mouthfeel and very full bodied for the low abv - borderline heavy even. Pour was at cool, but not frigid temperature - this beer might benefit from being served on the colder side. Taste of honey, cantaloupe and a little alcohol - almost like a weak honey wine. Overall, I appreciate breweries venturing out to make less popular styles, but this particular style benefits from a more subtle craftsmanship that this beer seems to be lacking.
