Our nod to the honorable Marzen Lager that is celebrated at Oktoberfest. An otherwise traditional Marzen, we couldn’t help but spice it up with a late addition of Australian Galaxy hops. Prost!

Absolutely the worst trophy beer I have tried. I love their beers but this one completely misses the mark as an Oktoberfest beer. Not good.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium to dark copper in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and faint amber + dark golden yellow + caramel colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall pillow foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted, caramel, and slightly bready malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. There is a light aroma of earthy hops with a light hint of minerality and lager yeast.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of toasted, caramel, and slightly bready malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by a light flavor of minerality and lager yeast. Finally there is a slightly stronger than light flavor of earthy + spicy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable, a fairly standard Oktoberfest but still one I could have again. Decent balance between the malty sweetness and the hoppy bitterness.
