Now They Write Letters (Cause They Miss Me) is another tribute to one of our favorite hip hop legends. Dry hopped with Motueka, Citra, and Cascade this NE IPA is nice and juicy with notes of mango, orange and a bit of pine on the finish.

A: Pours a murky medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate burnt orange + bright medium to dark yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense almost creamy sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering a little more than 75% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy citrus/orange, citrus/orange zest, tropical/mango, herbal, and pine/resin hops over the top of just shy of moderate aromas of biscuit + oat + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of biscuit + oat + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/orange, citrus/orange zest, tropical/mango, herbal, and pine/resin hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving light lingering citrus + tropical + pine hops flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Initially slightly crisp with a light amount of softness/fluffiness mid-body and a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and really enjoyable hop flavors - juicy tropical + citrus with herbal/pine notes. Enjoyable with a slightly soft mouthfeel and I would gladly have another one of these.

Note: I felt obligated to listen to the song while I was enjoying this beer and it paired very well - great song that needs to make it into my regular playlist more frequently.
