From the label: Beezel belgian style golden ale. Bottle no. 217/400. Ingredients: malted barley, candi sugar, honey, styrian golding and hallertau hops, belgian yeast, bitter orange peel, black pepper, patience, passon, and a whole lot of love, with an invitation to try the home brew recipe by emailing the brewer. Brewed by Beer Chef Ian Clark. Never filtered, naturally carbonated.
Opened the bottle and it started foaming out even though it hadn't been agitated.
Pours with a big foamy long-lasting head atop a cloudy golden liquid.
Smells like a belgian - mild bread, not too hoppy, followed by a slightly sour smell.
At 9% it doesn't taste too sweet, at least not at first. Bitter up front. Long finish, honey and pepper on the finish. Brighter and lighter than a braggot. Very efferfescent. The beer remaining in the bottle is foaming and starting to come out the top.
After the last pour (was it bottle conditioned?) the smell is bigger and more bready. Yum.
