650ml bomber poured into tulip 14/9/16

A hazy golden orange with enough clarity to see a thick stream of bubbles coming off the bottom, gentle pour still pumps out half a glass of foam that falls rather fast leaving lots of random lace

S lots of spicy yeast, peppery, clove, faint bubblegum, I'd guess apricot before peach and its fairly subtle but comes out a little more as it warms, some faint funk hiding in the background

T again its yeasty but that's not a bad thing, the fruits mellow but plays a big enough part, mimics the nose fairly well

M a little explosive but style often is, a little slick in the mouth, finishes fairly dry, spicy yeast linger

O interesting stuff with a nice mix of yeast and fruit, drinkable for 7%, this stuff could do some damage under a hot sun

I wasn't really sure what to expect but I enjoyed this one, worth a try for sure

I am pretty skeptical of (non-sour) fruit beers, so I had pretty low expectations of this beer. But it actually turned out to be delicious! The peach isn't overpowering, nor is it the only flavour (as in so many boring fruit beers). This is a classic saison with a complement of subtle peach flavour. Wonderful summer drink!

 

22 oz bottle purchased from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S. Salem OR $4.99 Pours a slightly hazy gold colour with a nice thick and frothy creme coloured head. Ripe banana and cookie dough aromas..some clove and a touch of red apple and a smidgen of vanilla..very complex nose. Taste is dry and now i get the peach..like the part of the peach near the stone. Gets juicier as the drink warms..interesting. Mouth feel is OK but IMO could use more carbonation ( this is a common American saison thing). Overall very nice complex yet drinkable beer.

 

22oz bottle - 'heart of the peach' - a saison made with peaches procured from Oregon Fruit Products.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium apricot amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and fizzy ecru head, which leaves a bit of roiling whitecap lace around the glass as it quickly sinks out of sight.

It smells of earthy and gently funky farmhouse yeast, musty peaches, strong clove and lesser black pepper spice, bready and doughy wheat malt, and a mainly floral and grassy green hop bitterness. The taste is much more peachy (in the fruity sense), with a nice fresh drupe juiciness, crackery and grainy pale and wheat malt, a more laid-back yeastiness, muddled earthy spice (so probably the clove and pepper, joined at the hip), and some plain leafy and increasingly perfumed floral hoppiness.

The bubbles are fairly active in their oscillating and mouth-filling frothiness, the body an adequate middleweight, and so-so in terms of smoothness - just too much yeast and spice acridity kicking around to hope for better. It finishes trending dry, the fruit calling it a day, with those jokers from the mouthfeel expanding their influence.

Overall, this is a pleasant enough peach saison, the fruit not overbearing or saccharine in the least. Lots of yer basic style essences abound, especially the surprisingly agreeable yeast, and yes, the almost tacky spice. At any rate, a decent brew, with a 14-proof alcohol quotient that does well to keep its grubby hands to itself.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a fair bit of haze and a moderate effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy white foam; it's quite decent.

Smell: subtle, floral aroma with a very subtle toastiness and subtle farmhouse quality. Kind of somewhere between a saison and a bière de garde; I quite like it.

Taste: a little sweet and wheaty up front, with a dash of spiciness that is akin to a witbier. Peach quality doesn't really jump out, but there's a bit of a heavy syrupy element with a bit of alcohol heat that comes in after the smooth wheatiness up front; it's a bit muddled there but overall not bad.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a very nice creaminess.

Overall: a pretty good beer, although the alcohol comes through a little too much at times. There's not a ton of peach character, either, so keep that in mind too.

 

Bomber from Albertsons. Hazy orange, amber body with initial high foamy head. Head fades to small coating. Aroma leans on the Saison side, grainy, musty, while the peaches appear in the taste but and follow through to the finish. Medium weight body offers the right feel to the whole package. This actually picks up a bit as it warms.

Aromatic with fruit and cloves, for some reason. The yeast, they say, but I have rarely encountered even a Hefeweizen that was so powerfully clove flavored, and aromatic in the nose. However it does make you think of peach cobbler. Serious drying effect from the yeast.

Amber brew with plenty of foam in the Ciney snifter. Pleasantly frothy in the mouth. A little sweet but quite tangy with the fruit acidity. One of the best fruit-flavored Saisons I've had. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.
