No questioning that this is a near picture perfect looking porter. Black, brown, and garnet battle for supremacy with beautiful clarity, while a smooth and rolling tanned foam rests quietly above. Excellent lacing, decent retention.
Very milk chocolate forward aroma almost masks any perceivable roasty or toasty qualities. Marshmallow with a touch of roasted almonds are accompanied by some cola like spices.
As implied by the aroma, this is a sugar bomb. Mirroring the aromas, chocolate and crushed nuts over a gooey toasted marshmallow.
Good creamy feel with a plush and pillowy carbonation. Favorably on the sweet side of balance, but still manages to be pretty easy to frequent sips.
A dessert lovers dream, especially if you're not in the mood for an expensive and/or boozy barrel influenced monster. The modest 5.4% and 25 ibu allow for feeling less guilty about polishing off the bomber by yourself.
Cheers.

This is a spring seasonal that is brewed with cocoa nibs. Dark amber brown in color with a coarse spritzy mouthfeel. Big nose of cocoa is no surprise.
This tastes just like cocoa, with that milky, chalky taste of the instant stuff. Fairly sweet with a bitterish twang. Not any distinguishable hop flavor. IBUs rated at 25. This doesn't go whole hog like a MIlk Stout, but as a Porter it's a little sweet and icky for my taste. I guess you have to like chocolate a whole lot. From the 12 oz bottle.
