A tribute to our solar arrays that preheat our brewing water and help power our facilities. Sol Power Pilsner has biscuit backbone with lemongrass and notes of citrus, creating a crisp and refreshing beer.

12oz can poured into 14oz teku. poured a cloudy pale yellow color with about 1/2 inch of white head that had low-moderate retention and lacing.

The aroma had a slight skunk at the front, but still had solid base grains, and floral hops.

The taste profile was similar, with, perhaps, the hops popping a bit more.

The body was perhaps a touch more full than is typical, and had a semi-dry finish/

Drinkability was fine, I could knock back a few of these while tubing or at a cookout.

Overall, not an outstanding example of the style, but a nicely enjoyable beer.

Clear golden yellow brew with coarse white foam in the tulip. This is more sweet than hoppy. It's a corn, grainy taste that is not my idea of a Pilsner. There is a perfumey hop aroma with a touch of butter and walnuts, and I don't mean that in a nice way. There is some green melon flavor but the aftertaste is kind of sludgy. It's kind of interesting but not very drinkable. So grainy and hardly a hint of bitterness. From the 12 oz can purchased in the far Northwest.

really nice glass of beer here, i have not had nearly enough beer from these guys, although i have been seeing it around a little bit here in boise. this is a cool one, slightly hoppy and a little modern tasting as they go, what i would call a nice american adaptation of a classic style, its clean and drinkable and refreshing, and i put my pint down mighty quick after a long work week. the smell is quite mild, not much outside of the pilsener malt, but the flavor is quite a lot more robust. the hops have a fresh and delicate herbal profile and obvious freshness, but remain in the background for the entire drink, as they probably should in the style, even though they have their classic bitter bite at the finish. the lager yeast is mellow but european to me, and the malt is so light and fresh, this has an airy dry feel with high carbonation, its crisp even though it might not be quite as cleaned up as some of the imports in terms of filtration and clarity and all that. bright flavors in here, lemon verbena, green tea, slight honey, its mellow and deliciously refreshing. ill jump at the next worthy beer i see out there.
