Inspired by Mexican horchata, this creation starts with Pilsner malt, just a touch of hops, and milk sugar to build a silky-smooth base. The addition of cinnamon and real vanilla creates a delicious and surprisingly refreshing beer.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy, light to medium golden amber with a one finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, light citrus hops, lemon, cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. Flavor follows, with pale malt, light citrus hops, vanila, cinnamon and lemon citrus. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This sounded interesting, I've liked the Mexican chocolate influenced stouts and I'm a fan of horchata. Not sure I get the milky quality of horchata from this, but the spicing is appropriate and there is a mild creaminess from the milk sugar. The cream ale base is good, if slightly more hopped than that usually kinda bland style, and it helped the flavor. The cinnamon notes are clear, but not too forward. The lemony flavor from the hops was not what I'd expect from a horchata profile. However, this is a quite good, interestingly hopped cream ale with a intriguing vanilla and cinnamon character. These guys are into biking and bike commuting and this seems like a refreshing light ale for after biking. Glad I tried it.

Poured from 16oz can into a tulip. Canned 11/27/19.
Appearance: pours a light golden hue with a little bit of haze and a light effervescence. Head is a super thin layer of white foam, indicating low carbonation. I expect a bit more out of a cream ale in that area.
Smell: a mild sweetness is on the nose, with quite a bit of cinnamon and perhaps a hint of vanilla. Not too bad; I'm not convinced horchata aromas work well in a cream ale context.
Taste: very cinnamoney indeed; perhaps too much for the rest of this beer. The underlying cream ale seems totally reasonable, but I find the cinnamon a bit overpowering. It's not bad, per se, but it lacks balance.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent level of carbonation and creaminess. It's got more fizz than the flat head suggested.
Overall: this beer is well-enough crafted, but the balance of cinnamon just doesn't really work for me very well.

Interesting. Nice cinnamon flavor, slightly yeasty. A very subtle lemon taste in it. Great mouth feel, thick but airy. great medium bubbles. Opaque color.

22oz bottle served in a snifter. 12/07/17 stamped on the shoulder. I think it was given to me by @mr-jj.
Pours almost clear amber in color with a medium sized head that settles quickly down to a very fine ring. Smell is cinnamon and rice milk (horchata), with a little yeast, and almost a peppery smell.
Taste is stronger in the pepper flavor, and stronger in the rice milk, but not as strong in the cinnamon. Yeast flavor gives up to more of a lager characteristic.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and kind of fizzy. It's not unpleasant but a little strange. Overall, it's not bad. Kind of strange.
