Cloudy, dark amber pour; orange and translucent (bordering on opaque) appearance in the glass; nice head, light khaki hue and fairly dense, lasting. Rich, alluring malt sweetness greets the nose. Nice semi-sweet malt base supporting a spicy and pine-like hop flavor and bitterness. Medium-heavy body; rich and slightly sticky.
A nice red ale with a distinctive hop presence.
ABV: 4.3%; pouring temperature: 51.3 ℉; canning info: no date; can conditioned ale

16oz can served in a big snifter. Can has no date that I can find. Bought it at Hop & Hound yesterday.
Pours a dark reddish amber. Medium sized bone-white head, settles to a coarse half-centimeter uneven layer. Smell is oak and toffee, some pine and more wet wood. Herbal, slightly spicy.
Taste is very oaky, tons of toffee complemented nicely by the woody tannins. Pine and wet wood serve to more fully round out an excellent skeleton.
Mouthfeel is dry and light. This beer is excellent.

Pours the darkest of reds, almost dark brown but when held to light it is a beautiful deep dark shade of red; off white brownish head, thick and sustaining; espresso crema like in nature; lacing present.
Rich malt presence; whisps of sap but mostly aromatic fragrant wood, hints of rose and something that just touches on dark berries.
Rich darkened malt and an incredibly unique mix of flavors; its again very wood like, cedar but even some oak; dark fruits noted above again but with the pine and sap becoming more prominent; the finish has an almost organic-ness to it, I'm not sure how else to describe it, feels primitive.
Incredibly smooth and creamy feel on this beer...the carbonation contributes so much to that; its like CO2 and Nitro met somewhere in the middle; it is quite dry and has a noticeable pine like bitterenss.
I would drink this beer again and again,

Poured into a Reuben's Brew pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium to dark reddish orange with a thin white head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of lightly grainy biscuit malt and mild red berries and some grassy hops; lightly spicy. Flavor follows with biscuit malt, red berries and apple juice, grassy and slightly citrus hops. Lingering grassy bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Nicely provides what the name promises: a quite hoppy red ale. The base has the light fruitiness of the style and a good biscuit malt flavor. Early in the taste, the hops kick in and become more aggressive into the finish, which has a lingering, almost surprising bitterness, since this English style brewer usually provides ales with that country's more mellow hopping. The hops themselves taste largely like English noble hops, but with a touch of citrus. Hoppy Red was a little unexpected at first, but really grew on me as I drank it. Interesting combo of traditional English, like a low ABV, with a little domestic character.
