16oz can of the 2024 vintage, purchased at Huckleberry's, in Spokane, WA, for $4.50.
Poured into a 16oz glass, this was a slightly chill-hazed golden amber. Big, sticky, bone-white head. Lots of lace.
Nose is somewhat subdued. Citrus and tropical fruits are pointed to, but it's somewhat mellow for being a FH beer.
The flavor is a bit more bright and perky than the aroma. Grapefruity and melon-ey, in that order, with a dash of pineapple. There's an underlying pithy bitterness throughout, and a bit of earthy graininess on the back end. Finish is surprisingly soft for something not an attempt at a NE hazy, but not to the point where it's a problem.
Medium bodied, with a slightly resiny, oily mouth feel.
Pretty good IPA, freshie or not, but not quite reaching the level of greatness. If I were a regular at Machine House, I'd probably drink this again, but here on the other side of the state, where it's confined to cans in specific places, I don't think I'll need to chase down any more this harvest.

500ml bottle served in a big snifter. Bottled September 2022.
Pours a dark amber, big thick creamy head, lots of fine, slow carbonation. Head retention is strong, takes a long time to collapse and leaves a thick layer at rest. Smell is earthy hops, hoppy vegetation, little bit of grain.
Taste is heavy bitterness, comes across kind oaky or tannic, most of the graininess is lost.
Mouthfeel is kind of thick and fluffy, dry. Overall, it's a good beer, but it's not screaming fresh hops.

16oz can. Served in a pint glass. No date. Compared to the previous description...I'd describe it as a straw gold. Smells brighter and fruitier, less earthy. Flavor description still mostly holds, though add in a bit more juiciness and the bitterness gets more of a resin character.
