Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival, One finger of white head was present, with good retention for a sour. A nice ring is left after a few minutes that even tries to leave some lacing. Body is a crystal clear brownish red.
Aroma is woody and a touch hot with an almost wine like sourness. Almost malty, but the sour overpowers.
Taste is quite nice with a weird sour malty hybrid flavor that works quite well actually. A bit wine-y and woody but it all stacks surprisingly well. The alcohol doesn't show up in the flavor at all so maybe that smell is just some funk.
Feel is crisp and highly attenuated like most sours. Finish is still surprisingly long with a nice sour dryness to it. Surprisingly nice pairing with popcorn haha.
Overall this is my first Flanders red, but this is a nice enjoyable middle ground of malty and sour without being overwhelming.
