Imperial represents strength and this style is exactly that. With hints a caramel and toffee alongside large hop additions throughout the brewing process as well as a generous “dry hop” (notice the wonderful citrus hop aroma) this beer will definitely love you back.

the gnarliest of red ales, hoppy and dank and clean finishing and just incredibly smooth and mellow for a beer this strong, its truly incredible. best ive had from shine, a big red malt base in a clear amber fluid, the head stays white and lacy all the way til the last drop, and the hop profile is more pine than anything, but not lacking for nuance either. resins like good herb, enough caramel malt to make it thick and interesting, and a long excited frothy feeling finish. its the kind of beer you taste and feel forever, not uncommon to some other huge hoppy reds, but this one balances sweet grain and dank hops as well as any. like all their beers, its cool with their food, but this one is a lot more interesting than most others made at shine. maybe a little low on carbonation, but it lets it all linger, and thats necessary to make this what it is. a really fine glass of ale as good as any in the style.
