My favorite brewery in town and my favorite place to hangout. Set in a vintage produce-warehouse on the rail line in town, the vibe is bursting with warmth and character. Started by 2 BLM firefighter buddies - the 1 remaining "Rascal" is well supported by a tight family with deep roots in the area. The father-and-son brewmaster team bring solid brewing knowledge and produce products rife with flavor and steadfast quality. They host weekly rotating "specials" that push the bounds of originality and creativity, along with an award-winning menu of classics and their own twists on popular flavors from every branch of the beer spectrum. These guys have supported their community since day 1 with local music, "movie nights", rallies, trivia, and unending generosity toward our local schools and charities. The brewmaster team has learned well from their sister award-winner in town (CO Boy Pizza & brewery). They practice clean and professional brewing and never ever shortcut on quality. I buy kegs from these guys all year long and their brews can be found in most of the local liquor stores and restaurants! Bring the kids too - because their sasparilla is the best in western CO.
Worth noting, while it started as a brewpub only, they now offer classic pub fare with a permanent food truck installation. Their attentive and friendly staff will deliver a batch of truffle fries that will leave your stomach thanking you for days!

Nice quiet local place with not much going on except the beer. A few styles always on tap with better then average quality. Probably the 2nd best offerings in town, behind Colorado Boy. Limited food is available on premise, but you can bring your own or order from a local Mexican place, who will deliver.

The brewery is in a really cool space - lots of exposed wood, good lighting, and cool atmosphere. Brandon, the brewer and bartender, was super friendly and recommended several beers that were his favorites. Most everything I had was very solid, my favorite being their new Citra Pale Ale. The clientele were very friendly and the place had a really laid back, inviting vibe to it. Some breweries are either pretentious, stand-offish, or just inattentive; this place was a really nice change of pace. If you're in Montrose check out this brewery for their beers over the other two in two town (Colorado Boy and Horsefly).
