i love these guys, and am so glad they are sending beer to colorado! this was on tap at falling rock, and while not the best of the best i have had from scratch, its a real nice beer. hazy and soft wheaty looking, no color from the fruit at all, nice tall frothy white head. they must have used green unripe gooseberries instead of the purple ripe ones, more of a citrusy tang than a grapey sweet to the fruit aspect, but its subtle either way, not as fruity as expected, but obviously this is a tough fruit to get right in beer. love the yeast, a mix of fruity white winey belgian elements and bretty funk with just a little acidity to it, but soft on the palate and in the belly with all the wheat and fluffiness. great carbonation, crackling dry, and interesting on the yeast front. it could definitely stand more gooseberries, and this doesnt quite have the raw rugged earthy scratch it factor that sets so many of their other beers apart, but its a real nice base saison with a little twist. one of my favorite breweries out there right now...
