Appearance: a deep red color, almost brownish. a small white head that fades pretty quickly to just about nothing. pretty dark and opaque. 3.5/5
Smell: lots of sweet caramel and bready malts. earthy and slightly fruity. some good whiffs of hops. 3.75/5
Taste: opens with lots of sweet caramel malts. taste rounds out with some slight nuttiness and toasted malts. backend is full of hops. citrus and earthy. 4/5
Mouthfeel: medium-full bodied. a touch on the dry side and leaves a linger bitterness behind. 4.25/5
Overall: A slightly dark but rather tasty ESB. lots of good balance and quite flavorful.

On tap at the Underground.
Appearance is decent. A nice clear amber hue. Looks like an amber ale not an ESB.
Smell is clean and unassuming. Not great, above average, mildly hoppy but shy.
Taste is wonderful. Reminds me of Fuller's with a nice hoppy bite.
Solid mouthful for the style. Light, crisp, and clean. Not too heavy.
Overall I am very impressed with this brew and this brewery. Not many great choices in
Virginia but the future looks bright with Apocalyse and Parkway.
